As the year 2022 draws to a close, it is traditionally celebrated by Christmas and New Year’s celebrations around the world. For the holiday and festive season, many families in Nigeria return back to their hometowns to spend time with their loved ones.
The high cost of living, which is a result of excessive inflation in market pricing for goods and food items, is one of the issues the nation is currently confronting.
Lema Plan International made the decision to help indigent widows in rural areas by sending them a surprise Christmas package to help them during this time.
On December 9, 2022, we paid the family of Mama Baby, as she is fondly called, our first unexpected visit. When our team visited her home and gave her gifts which include a bag of rice, groundnut oil, carton of tomatoes paste, carton of noodles, a roll of seasoning cubes, and 8 sachets of iodized salt, she was overjoyed.
She prayed for the organisation for remembering her at this time. She conveyed her gratitude while making us understand the significance of this act of compassion for her and her children.
