Switzerland
Empowering communities through education & humanitarian action
Awalé Workshops
In Switzerland, Lema Plan International leads community engagement, educational workshops, migrant support, and book collection campaigns. Through Awalé workshops and annual logistics efforts, 450–500 people have been reached locally while supporting education programs abroad.
Logistics
Annual logistics efforts ensure books and materials are sorted, prepared, and shipped to partner countries. Overall, 450–500 people have been reached through these initiatives.
Tanzania
Between 2021 and 2024, Lema Plan International supported six primary schools in Tanzania through the distribution of learning materials, school uniform donations, support to vulnerable children, and structured needs assessments.
In 2024 alone, 318 students received exercise books and pens, and 1,400 students were surveyed to guide future interventions. Overall, more than 600 students directly benefited from the program.
Togo
In Togo, Lema Plan International has supported 12 schools and institutions between 2018 and 2024 through education-focused and community-centered interventions. Key actions included COVID-19 sensitization for 585 students, menstrual hygiene education, sponsorship of vulnerable children, distribution of school kits, and the creation of the first library in Adetiokopé with 1,850 books in 2024.
The program also supported orphans and strengthened community awareness around education, reaching approximately 1,450–1,550 direct beneficiaries and over 3,000 indirect beneficiaries.
Nigeria
In Nigeria, between 2018 and 2022, Lema Plan International supported eight schools and communities through targeted educational and social interventions. Activities included the donation of school materials, refurbishment of classroom furniture, student sponsorship, menstrual hygiene and sexual health education, and a large-scale sensitization campaign in Abia State.
The program also distributed food to vulnerable families in December 2022 and recognized local volunteers for their contribution. Overall, more than 1,000 students and families benefited from these initiatives.
