Lema Plan International is recruiting a Local Project Leader and Project Assistant to support our education project for children in public primary schools in Kisarawe. These positions involve direct work with students, teachers, and school environments to improve learning conditions.
About the Roles
The main aim of these positions is to support children by:
- identifying learning needs
• supporting material distribution
• documenting children’s progress
• helping teachers organise learning tools
• improving classroom structure and motivation
Your work will help students learn with dignity, confidence, and stability.
Local Project Leader — Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular school visits
• Lead material distribution in all schools
• Ensure fair access for all children
• Document challenges affecting students
• Coordinate activities with LPI management
• Submit timely summary reports after each activity
• Prepare a final, detailed report at the end of the project phase
• Ensure all procedures and child-safety policies are followed
• Guide and supervise the Project Assistants
The Project Leader must be proactive, organised, and committed to the well-being of children.
PROJECT ASSISTANTS — KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Project Leader during all school activities:
Support the distribution of learning materials
Collect photos, testimonies, and attendance records
Assist in basic classroom organisation
Prepare short notes and activity summaries
Follow all project guidelines and child-protection rules
This role is ideal for motivated individuals who want to gain experience in education and project implementation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (FOR BOTH POSITIONS)
Bachelor’s degree (mandatory)
Minimum 6 months of experience in community work, teaching, volunteering, or school-based activities
Ability to write simple and clear reports
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)
Strong communication in Swahili (English is a plus)
Reliable, organised, respectful, and capable of working independently
