Introducing the Lema Plan International Shop: Supporting Our Mission Through Purposeful Shopping

At Lema Plan International, our mission has always been rooted in education, empowerment, and community support. Since 2018, we have worked to improve access to quality education for children and women in developing countries while building meaningful connections between communities in Africa and Switzerland.
Today, we are proud to introduce an important extension of our work — the Lema Plan International Shop.

Welcome to the Lema Plan International Shop

The Lema Plan International Shop is the official online store connected to our organization. It was created to offer supporters, donors, and the public a new way to engage with our mission while helping sustain educational and humanitarian projects.

This shop is more than an online marketplace — it represents a step toward building sustainability for our organization.

Why We Created the Shop

As a nonprofit organization, we continuously seek innovative ways to support our work beyond donations alone.

The Lema Plan International Shop was developed to:

  • Create an additional source of support for our initiatives
  • Promote products connected to creativity, education, and inspiration
  • Strengthen the visibility of our organization
  • Build a bridge between social impact and ethical commerce
  • Encourage supporters to contribute through meaningful purchases

Every visit, purchase, and share contributes to the visibility and sustainability of our mission.

A Shop Connected to Our Mission

The shop is legally linked to Lema Plan International and reflects the values we promote through our projects.
Our goal is to create a trustworthy and transparent online experience while continuing to build a platform that reflects professionalism, community, and long-term impact.
The shop is part of our broader strategy to help our organization remain active, independent, and able to continue supporting communities over time.
By exploring the shop, you are not only discovering products — you are supporting an organization dedicated to creating educational opportunities and meaningful change.

Products Inspired by Community Needs, Quality, and Trust

Many of the products featured in our shop are inspired by experiences from our educational campaigns, donations, and community projects carried out over the years.
Through our work, we identified practical items that support learning, creativity, and daily well-being — including educational tools, puzzles, technology-related resources, and hygiene products.
Some products reflect the types of materials previously donated by supporters and partners during our initiatives. By making them available through the shop, we aim to create a more transparent and accessible way for individuals and organizations to contribute directly to our mission.
As we continue developing and testing our shop, quality remains one of our highest priorities. We believe it is better to offer a smaller selection of carefully chosen products rather than a large collection that does not meet expectations.
Products that receive consistently poor feedback or do not align with our quality standards may be removed over time. Customer satisfaction matters deeply to us. We would rather provide a refund than leave a customer disappointed.
Building trust, transparency, and long-term relationships is more important than simply making sales.
Over the past three years, our journey has taught us something meaningful: it is not about offering many products, but about creating genuine connections through items inspired by the generosity and support of our community.
In this way, the shop becomes more than a marketplace — it becomes an extension of shared impact, human connection, and the mission of Lema Plan International.

Building Trust Through Real Experiences

As part of our commitment to meaningful products, some of our Awalé game items have already been presented in educational and cultural settings.
Several Awalé products have recently been showcased within a cultural institution in the Vaud region of Switzerland during April 2026, helping introduce traditional learning games in a meaningful environment.
We have also seen encouraging interest from participants during our Awalé workshops. During a parent–child Awalé activity held in April 2026 for children aged 7 to 16, one participant purchased a large game board for their son after discovering its educational and family value.
These recent experiences continue to strengthen our understanding of what connects with people and reinforce our commitment to offering products that are meaningful, educational, and trusted.

Who Is the Shop For?

The Lema Plan International Shop was created with a diverse community in mind.

We envision the shop serving:

  • NGOs and nonprofit organizations
  • Schools and educational institutions
  • Government and community partners
  • Individuals living in or connected to our partner countries
  • Donors and supporters who wish to contribute in a practical way
  • Families, educators, and socially conscious customers

While many products are inspired by our work in education and community development, we warmly welcome customers from around the world.

To make the shop accessible to a broader audience, our website is available in English, French, and German.

We believe meaningful products can connect people across cultures, communities, and shared values.

A Testing Phase and a Learning Journey

The Lema Plan International Shop is currently in a testing and development phase.
Initially, our intention was to integrate educational products directly into our main NGO website. However, we quickly realized the importance of remaining flexible as we explore what works best for our organization and supporters.
Our online shop may continue to evolve and be restructured over time as we learn which products, categories, and approaches best support our mission and long-term sustainability.
We want our donors, partners, and supporters to understand that this shop is not a final model, but part of an ongoing learning process.
This is our first step into a new area of social entrepreneurship — one that combines mission-driven work with sustainability.
We are entering this new territory with openness and adaptability, testing ideas, learning from experience, and gradually building a model that may one day lead to a physical shop if finances and long-term sustainability allow.
As with many nonprofit initiatives, growth happens step by step. We believe transparency is important, and we are committed to sharing this journey honestly with our community.

How We Hope to Grow

As we continue developing the Lema Plan International Shop, we believe growth happens through real human connection and community engagement.
We hope to introduce our products and mission through different channels, including workshops, local markets across Switzerland, community events, blog content, word of mouth, and the support of friends, families, partners, and supporters.
Communication remains an important part of our journey. Through storytelling, educational activities, social media, local visibility, and media outreach, we aim to build meaningful relationships with people who connect with our mission.
Our goal is not simply to sell products, but to create awareness, encourage dialogue, and build a supportive community around education, culture, and impact.

Looking Ahead

Our vision is not only to sell products but to create a sustainable support system that contributes to the future of our organization.

As the shop develops, we will continue refining its structure, improving trust, exploring educational and ethical products, and learning what best aligns with our mission.

We are grateful for every person who visits, shares, supports, and believes in this journey.
